Who I am

If you ever have the chance to watch me write, you’ll notice I hold my pen incorrectly. If you ask my family why this is, they will tell you they took too long to teach me how to hold my pen, and I had stories I wanted to write. Whether through writing poetry or my absolute love of watching movies and reenacting the scenes from them.

There wasn’t a lot of positive representation of BiPoc people, especially in animation, and I knew I wanted to change that. I love drawing on my experiences as a first-generation, BiPoc, intersectional, LGBTQIA+ writer and the ways my lived experiences can celebrate other writers with intersectional identities and stories similar to my own. As a screenwriter, I aspire to tell stories from people from all walks of life, across genres and mediums. I believe that at our core, storytelling is what makes us human, and I am excited to explore, celebrate, and write about that richness and sometimes messiness that comes with humanity.
